These are some frames of the Flora by Gucci spot, no longer contemporary but still fashinating. Not surprising the fact that behind this less-than-a-minute video there is a great director and artist: Chris Cunningham.
If you are illustration lovers as I am, you should decidedly take a look to Matt Lee drawings, really personal style, definitely original character. This is the The Jeff Death series.
I'm attending a children's books illustration course in this period and every session the teacher bring us some books to look at. During the last lesson I have seen for the firs time works by this illustrator called Timothy Basil Ering (here it is his site) which are, in my personal point of view, simply wonderful, both the style and techniques.
As often happens Design*Sponge posted something I really love. Like this colored, cosy and "genuine" kitchen, I almost want to cook something now looking at it!
Markets are surely one of the most interesting and almost unique places of London. There you can find every kind of goods as well as every kind of food. This is what my sister's eye catches last time we went in Camden Town.
After a couple of days of break I come back to my blog with some nice stuff. The last weekend my family was here in London to visit me. As the most respectable turists we had our usual mission in Harrods. Obviously it is not the place where I go for shopping in London but there is an area which I absolutely love: the Food Halls. Tens of showcases with every kind of goodness, from chocolate to lobster, presented and exhibited as they were jewels. (and actually, what have them less than jewels?) If you look, for example, at sweets, they are also wrapped in delightful packaging that makes me become a candy-lover which I definitely am not. But they are so well designed and so cute!
I have just discovered this skilled illustrator. His name is Drake Brodahl and these are some of his really nice and cute creations. Take a look to the site.
I haven't had yet the possibility to choose the forniture for the place where I live, but when I will I'll definitely want to have a drawing board and a bookcase like these!
The images below are some of the several masterpieces by Julian Beever. It's not easy to find out what is the name of this definitely talented street artist, but surely when you discover him and his works you'll feel completely stunned by the beauty of these drawings. (just click here if you want to see more).
I have just found by chance a scene of one of the nicest movies I've ever seen: Big Fish. When I have seen it, for the first time in my life I thought that I loved the movie more than the book (Daniel Wallace). I was not surprise when I discovered that the Big Fish director was Tim Burton, one of my favourites. From "Nightmare before Christmas" to "Alice in Wonderland" he's always able to create amazing lanscapes and characters and being neither repetitive nor boring.
But let's give part of the merit also to actors as Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter which presence characterized a lot of his movies.
