Veronica's site

I hope it won't sound too presumptuous, but I'd like to share with
you some projects I've just uploaded on my website...If you are curious
and would like to take a look, click on Veronica's site.

Sika

Few days ago I have been in a marvellous clothing shop in Greenwich.
The collection design is really dressy and original and the fabric prints
are simply amazing: bright colors and perfect combinations blend with awesome patterns.
Fashinated by these products I came out of the shop without purchases (just because of a lack of time actually!) but with the business card which explains me that, textual words: "All Sika Collection are produced in Ghana, and fabric is sourced from local markets and hand-made, using age-old traditional methods...".
Definitely an interesting surprice, which gives to these product an important surplus value and a push to us to more pay attention to these details when we buy every kind of item, really good job Sika!
Here it is the website where you can check the shops and buy online
as well.

NatalieAsIs

Here it is one of the wonderful creations by NatalieAsIs.
There's nothing that could change my point of view: also
in a industrialized world like this we are living in, handmade objects
are che most fascinating and the ones with more personality.

To Andy Warhol from Mick Jagger

Curious stuff today: the letter Mick Jagger wrote to Andy Warhol to arrange the design of the new Rolling Stones' album. It's nice to see how a celebrity working relationship is. They seemed to get on well anyway, and a quite amusing letter as well.

Here it is the album cover designed by A. Warhol.

A studio with a sink or a kitchen without food?

Actually I have some doubts in what kind of room is this
(a studio with a sink or a kitchen without food?) but I do appreciate
the style so nice and cosy.

Work places...again

Wood and white, bright rooms and a little bit of disorder
are the right ingredients for the perfect work place.

Oompa Loompa Chic

Though they have some resemblance with the Oompa Loompa glasses,
I really like this ones by Chanel. They are particular and classy at the same time. Nevertheless, it has to be said that who wears them in this picture is not exactly the girl next door therefore I'm wondering...how would they look on my face?! Fashionable or ridiculous?

Working places

Someone could say me it is old, someother could tell me it is dull,
but I still would love this small welcoming room, it makes me want
to work on something at that table, sit down on one of those chairs, doodling dozens of those sheets.

False Friends

Here you see "False Friends" the ingenious characters invented
by Coarse (Hong Kong). Smart idea, impeccable realization
for a result really interesting and funny at the same time.

I haven't been there yet but it is a dream of mine since I was a child, therefore I will prepare my self to the journey I'll do there, sooner or later, through the my blog.

Kew Gardens

Yesterday I have been for the first time at Kew Gardens.
It is not a news that parks are particularly nice in London but this is really the king of them with its colorful blossoms and unusual plants from every corner of the earth.
An "old english" athmosphere leads you in this exquisite world made
of refined flowerbeds and elegant greehouses.

Bookbinding passion!

I'have just attended to a Bookbinding workshop at my university
(London College of Communication).
You cannot imagine how many simply wonderful things can be done just by hands. These are just some example of nice books, one day I'll upload pictures of mine!
And this is the book the tutor advice to us "Bookbinding for Book Artists" as the best one with the instruction to make books by your self.

Outfit by Moschino

This is my first post regarding fashion!
Yes, I confess, among all stuff Veronica likes there is also fashion.
Here it is an adorable outfit by Moschino.

Tim Burton's illustrations

I'd like to show you some other illustrations in the same creepy-funny style I mentioned in the last post. These are from the Tim Burton's book
"The melancholy death of Oyster Boy and other stories".
Though not even comparable with the Grim Grisly ones (the style
is certainly far more simplistic) I found these interesting for the unusual subjects and characters.

Gris Grimley

I have just known this illustrator from the Illustration course I'm attending
but it has been love at first site. Since I saw his book I run home open Amazon and bought this book which collects his best illustration.
He is Gris Grimley and below there are some shoots of the book
"Where madness reigns".
Apart from the techniques he uses, which I really appreciate,
I am definitely a fan of this creepy-funny style, the one you can also
find in Tim Burton's movies such as "Corpse bride"or "Nightmare
before Christmas".

Comb the Octopus

The hair drier is really effective.
Thanks to it now my comb is almost an alive creature!
